This old abandoned cemetery is located behind Eugene Mathis'

property on Mathis Lane.It is on a knoll near the railroad

tracks and the Tuscumbia River.If you follow the railroad

tracks for about 5 miles East of Pocahontas the cemetery

will be on the right just before the bridge crossing the river.

In the 1940s there were about 20 large tombstones in this

cemetery. In 2007 we could find only two. The rest had

unfortunally been destroyed. Could find no information as to

whether this was a settlement or was occupied by workers on

the railroad. Any information about this cemetery would be

appreciated.
