B. BEARD [Note: W. B. BEARD is WILEY BAUCUM's father-in-law.] [I, WILEY BAUCUM, have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to W. B. BEARD and his heirs for the] consideration of seven hundred dollars to me in hand paid a certain tract of land in McNairy County, Tennessee: Beginning at a hickory, black oak and hickory pointer 228 poles East and 13 poles South of the SouthEast corner of Entry Number 352 in the name of J. LOURANCE, then North 40 poles to a black jack and 3 black jack pointers, then West 180 poles to a stake, 3 black, 3 spanish oaks, then South 145 poles to a post oak and 3 black pointers, then East 52 poles to a stake, black jack and 2 hickory pointers, then North 12 poles to a hickory, 2 black jack, 2 hickory pointers, then East 126 poles to a stake, post oak and 3 black jack pointers, then West 93 poles passing the SouthWest corner at 25 poles of a tract of land called the Rascal Patch, to a stake on the Northern [corner] of the 185-acre entry granted to W. S. WISDOM, this being a pointer and the Rascal Patch balance of said 185 acre tract, then West with the North line about 98 poles to the beginning. Also, 35 acres beginning North of a ditch, then 8 poles with meanderings of the branch to a stake, post oak pointers, then West 94 poles to a stake, post oak, and 3 black jack pointers, then North 34 poles to a post oak, black oak and 3 black jack pointers, then East 52 poles to a black oak, 3 black jack pointers, then North 12 poles to a hickory, black and 2 hickory pointers, then East 52 poles to a stake, then South 52 poles to the beginning, containing by estimation 163 1/2 acres, more or less and being the place where W. B. Beard [..illegible..] lives. To have and to hold the same to the said BEARD, his heirs and assigns forever. I do further covenant with the said BEARD that I am lawfully seized of said land, having a good right to convey it and the same is unencumbered, I do further covenant and bind myself, every part thereof to the said BEARD, his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whatever this 28th January 1874.
