     McNairy County, Tennessee Deed Book O, p. 548 19 March 1879



     ASA BAUCUM & Wife  to  J. C. L. SEWELL



     [Note:  William Webster was the late husband of Nancy Webster

     Baucum.]



     Deed, 2 acres



     We, ASA BAUCUM and NANCY [WEBSTER] BAUCUM, wife of ASA BAUCUM, have

     this day bargained and sold and transfered to J. C. L. SEWELL and

     his heirs forever for the consideration of twelve dollars to us in

     hand paid by said SEWELL, 2 certain [tracts of] land, in McNairy

     County, State of Tennessee and bounded as follows:



     Being part of the W. WEBSTER land.   



     Beginning at a stake on the North boundary line of Sewell's home

     tract.  Runs North 33 poles with SIPES' line to [illegible].   Runs

     then at South West direction 40 poles to the white oak corner of

     SEWELL's home tract.  Runs then East 19 poles to the beginning.

     Containing one acre more or less, meaning to convey a gore out of

     the WILLIAM WEBSTER tract & place.  



     Beginning on the North East Corner of 8 acres conveyed to N. C.

     RIGGS by SIMPSON MASSENGILL on the 5th February 1877 and being the

     South East corner of the Webster land.  Runs there North 13 poles to

     a stake.  Runs there West 13 poles to a stake.  Runs there South 13

     poles to a stake on the North boundary line of the 8 acres.  Runs

     then East 13 poles to the beginning, containing one acre more or

     less.



     To have and to hold the same to the said J. C. L. SEWELL and his

     heirs and assigns forever, we covenant with the said J. C. L. SEWELL

     that we are lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to

     convey it and that the same is unencumbered.  We do further bind

     ourselves to warrant and forever defend the title of the same to the

     said SEWELL, his heirs forever against the lawful claims of all

     persons whatever.  Given under our hands this 19th day of March

     1879.
