HILL and MARY E. HILL to ALEXANDER SURRATT 100 acres For and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to us in hand paid by ALEX SURRATT, the receipt of which is acknowledged, we, ELIZA S. HILL and MARY E. HILL, the only heirs at law OF WILLIAM HILL, deceased, have this day bargained and sold and do by this transfer and convey unto the said ALEXANDER SURRATT and his heirs forever, the following described tract or parcel of land, lying and being in McNairy County, State of Tennessee, and bounded as follows: In Range 4 and Section 4 and part of Entry No. 590 and 2101. Beginning at a black oak, poplar, and 2 hickory pointers, the North West corner of said Entry No 2101. Then South 164 poles to a stake, hickory and oak pointers, then East 90 poles to a stake and 2 black oak pointers, a conditional corner betwen Barnes and Berchet. Thence North 164 poles to a hickory, and black oak pointers, another conditional corner, thence West 98 poles to the beginning, containing 100 acres more or less. And the same deeded to our father, W. A. HILL by T. WASH SCOTT on 15[th] day of August 1877 and Registered in Register Office Book L, pages 774 and 775. To have and to hold the same to the said ALEX SURRATT and his heirs forever. We covenant with the said ALEX SURRATT that we are lawfully seized of said land by reason of being our father's only children and we both now being of age, have a good right to convey the same and that same is unencumbered in any way, we bind ourselves and heirs unto the said ALEX SURRATT and his heirs that we will warrant and forever defend the title of said land against the lawful claims of all persons.
