Prather For the love and affection I entertain for James K. Prather and Tabitha Jane Prather his wife the said J. K. Prather my Grand Son, I Wm. Prather do hereby give transfer and convey to them my tract of land in McNairy County and State of Tennessee it being a part of the tract of land known as the Scot survey containing eighty eight acres more or less and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at a small hickory the N.W. corner of said Entry thence South 180 poles to a stake thence East 79 poles to a stake post oak and three black oak pts. thence North 180 poles to a stake post oak and 2 black oak pts. thence West 79 poles to the begining to have and to hold the same to the said James K. Prather and Tabitha Jane his wife their heirs or assigns provided however if they both should die without issue then said track of land to go back my heirs. I covenant and agree for myself and heirs to warrant and defend the title to the said track of land to the said James K. Prather and T. J. Prather his wife their heirs or assigns against the lawful claims of all person whatsoever. June the 20th 1873. Wm. Prather State of Tennessee, McNairy County Personally appeared before me C. Prather the within named grantor with whom I am personally acquainted who acknowledged the he assigned the foregoing instrument for the purposes therein specified.
