Editor Sun; - It Is with sadness that I attempt to Chronicle the death of Dr. L. H. C. Prather. He departed this life February 22, 1892. Dr. Prather had been with us five years, doing the practice of this, community for that length of time, and a better physician has never been in this part of the country. He was ever ready to go when he was called, and would visit the poor as well as the rich. He was reasonable in his charges and easy to pay, and never was known to press anyone, He was one of the best poor man's friend that ever lived in this community. No man has died in this neighborhood, who is so sadly missed as Dr. Prather. His place can never be supplied in this community. He sacrificed his life for the lives of his patrons. Dr. Prather leaves an estimable wife, two children and a host of friends to mourn his loss, but let us trust that our loss will be his eternal gain. J. M. C. R. Herndon, Feb, 27, 1892
