PRATHER McNairy County Independent, July 9, 1909 DIED.-At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frankie Huggins at Gainsville, Texas, last Saturday, Mrs. C.P. Prather, age 82 years. She had been visiting her daughter, and ill health prevented her return. Her home has been in Selmer for years with her son W.H. Thompson, with whom she had lived for many years. She was a very exemplary woman and prominent in local church affairs. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Selmer. She leaves four grown children, as follows, Mrs. Frankie Huggins, W.H. Thompson and, Charlie Thompson, and Joe G. Prather. She was first married to K.W. Thompson, who died in 1865. Afterwards married W. R. Prather, who died several years ago. Her loss falls heavily on her son W.H. with whom she made her home and to whom he was greatly attached. She was laid to rest at Gainsville, Texas.
