Wright Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/mcnairy/photos/wright141gph.jpg Image file size: 38.4 Kb General Marcus J. Wright Born in Purdy McNairy Co. TN Marcus L. Wright was a Brig. General in the CSA by the age of 31 or 32. After the war, he settled with his family in Memphis, and I found him there with his wife and children, including Benjamin, age 4, in 1870. Shortly after, he was called by someone in Washington, D. C. to come to Washington and do some writing about the Southern outlook on the war, people, and battles. This he did, and never left Washington. He is one of two Civil War CSA generals to be buried in Arlington Cemetery. According to one biography, Marcus was the son of a Benjamin Wright and Ann--, and I believe was born in Purdy County.
