June 12, 1820-Oct. 4, 1837 Page 171 & 172 James Colquit To James Everhart (page 171) This Indenture made the ninth day of January in the year of our lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Thirty between James Colquit of the County of Franklin and state of Tennessee for of the one part and James Everhart of the County of Monroe and state aforesaid of the other part. Witness that the said James Colquitt for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and sixty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and Sell onto said James Everhart a certain Tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and sixty acres of land lying in the County of Monroe and state of Tennessee situate in the Third Range East of the Meridian Third Township eighteen Section and the North East Quarter of said Section beginning at the North East Corner of said quarter as by Grant of the State Tennessee to the said James Colquit Bearing date the first day of August 1825 doth fully show to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land hereby Granted to the said James Everhart his heirs Executors or Administrators to the only proper use Benefit and Behoof of him the said Everhart and the said James Colquit doth covenant and Agree that he will (page 172) forever Warrant and Defend the before mentioned premises Against the Claim or Demand of All and Any person or persons whatsoever Claiming or Claim In Testimony whereof the said James Colquit hath Hereunto Set his hand and Affixed his Seal the day and date above written Signed Sealed and James Colquit (seal) Delivered in presence of Thomas Mansfield Thos. Henderson State of Tennessee I William Blair clerk of the court of pleas and grants sessions of Monroe County do certify that at March session 1830 of said county the foregoing deed of conveyance was Duly proven in open Court by the oath of Thomas Mansfield and Thomas Henderson the two subscribing witnesses for Registration given under my hand at office in Madisonville the 31st day of March 1830 Wm.
