She had two brothers in the Rebel army. Although she swears to loyal sympathies, she fails to furnish any ___ indications of loyalty. Of the two witnesses in support of loyalty one an intimate acquaintance never heard her express herself on the subject; and the other an old man said she talked favorably of the Union. This is very weak evidence and we are not therefore surprised that our special agent Brownlow reports her actually disloyal. We reject the claim. Additional Comments: Jane's first husband Martin Bilderback died in 1860. She married a neighboring widower, Jesse Richesin about 1863. Each lived on his own farm, and Jesse visited her every few weeks and stayed a few days. Jesse Richesin was considered a loyal Union man.
