He enlisted in Virginia troops under Captain Joseph Michaux and Colonel Charles Lewis. He was transferred to Captain Nathan Reed's company. He was in the battles of Brandywine, Germantown, Stony Point and Monmouth. He was born in 1754 in Virginia. He died in Monroe County, Tennessee, in 1841. He married Nannie Hicks.
