The last day of the meeting, at 12 o'clock, we preached the funeral and burial of old Uncle Peter Harris, the oldest member of Chapel Hill church, who had been a member 45 years, he was 77 years old at his next birthday. His life was one of a Christian soldier's ; he was loved by everyone. May his long line of relatives follow his example. Harris, Peter (Uncle) b. March 1806 - d. Aug 4, 1882 Harris, Catherine Emma b. Sept. 21, 1807 - d. June 5, 1883 Gone but not forgotten Gone to a brighter home Where grief cannot come. Article in Clarksville Weekly January 1923. Willis Dawson dies at age 78. District 17 Farmer spent entire life in Montgomery County. Willis Dawson, 78 years of age, and one of the county's lifelong residents, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. Hodge, in District 17, at midnight, following an illness of a month, due to age and complications. Mr Dawson was a member of the Methodist Church, and was well known over the county. The daughter, Mrs. Hodge, is the only surviving near relative. Services will be conducted at the home at 10 o'clock tomorrow. (Thursday) morning by Rev. I. W. Keathley.
