Bonds, Inventories, Wills, 1797-1810 ( p. 409 & 410, Book B) In pursuance of the above order we the undersigned commissioners have proceeded to make partition of the property therein mentioned having been first sworn agreeable to law, to give each party Justice; that is to say; we have divided the tract of land mentioned in the above order, containing four hundred and forty six acres bounded as follows. Beginning at a Sycamore at the mouth of a cut (?) opposite the Town of Clarksville on the south side of Cumberland River, and running south sixty nine and one half degrees west, four hundred and twenty poles with William C. JAMISON's line to a dogwood and poplar one of the original corners, thence north twenty six degrees east four hundred and thirty poles to an ash and iron wood on the bank of Cumberland River thence the following courses up and with the river to the beginning viz., south eighty seven degrees east, thirty eight poles, south sixty degrees east twenty two poles, south forty four degrees east eighty two poles, south thirty eight degrees east seventy one poles, south twenty seven and one half degrees east sixty two poles, south seventeen and one half degrees east sixty poles which said tract of four hundred and forty six acres is divided into four equal parts, and distinguished by number one, two, three, and four, the first tract which is distinguished by Number One begins at the above named sycamore and cut (?) and runs south sixty nine and one half degrees west four hundred twenty poles, to the above named original corner dogwood & poplar, thence north fifty eight degrees east four hundred & thirty poles to an ash on the banks of Cumberland River; thence up and with the river south twenty seven & one half degrees east twenty four poles, thence south seventeen & one half degrees east sixty poles to the beginning sycamore cut (?) containing one hundred eleven & one fourth acres and the second tract which is distinguished by Number Two, Begins at an ash on the banks of Cumberland River and runs with the line of tract number one south fifty eight degrees west four hundred and thirty poles to the aforesaid original corner dogwood & poplar, thence north forty seven degrees east, four hundred thirty eight poles to a hickory & sycamore on the banks of Cumberland River thence up & with the river south, thirty eight degrees east forty six poles, thence south twenty seven & one half degrees east thirty seven poles to the beginning ash containing one hundred eleven & one fourth acres. And the third tract which is distinguished by Number Three, Begins at a hickory & sycamore on the banks of Cumberland River and runs with the line of tract Number Two south forty seven degrees west, four hundred & thirty eight poles to the original corner dogwood & poplar, thence north thirty six degrees east four hundred & forty two poles to a sycamore & cottonwood on the bank of Cumberland River, thence up and with the river south forty four degrees east, fifty eight poles, thirty eight degrees east, fifty eight poles, thence south thirty eight degrees east twenty five poles to the beginning hickory & sycamore, containing one hundred eleven & one fourth acres, and the fourth and last tract which is distinguished by Number Four, Begins at the before mentioned sycamore & cottonwood on the bank of Cumberland River near the present ferry landing and (?) nearly opposite the mouth of Red River and runs with the line of tract of Number Three south thirty six degrees west four hundred and forty two poles to the original corner dogwood & poplar thence north twenty six degrees east four hundred & thirty poles to an ash and ironwood on the bank of Cumberland River, thence up and with the river, south eighty seven degrees east thirty eight poles, thence south sixty degrees east seventy two poles, thence south forty four degrees east twenty six poles to the beginning sycamore & cottonwood on the banks of Cumberland River. There appears to be but one spring on the said tract of four hundred & forty six acres, and their being several owners and it is deemed necessary by we the said Commissioners to give a chance to each owner, legatee or claimant of obtaining water from said spring, therefore we have laid off two acres of ground for the benefit of each owner legatee or claimant, for that purpose, which said two acres is to form a line which is forever to be kept clear & open & to be nary obstructed the line is to commence two hundred & seventy three poles on the first line or dividing line between William C. JAMISON's and the within mentioned tract of four hundred and forty six acres from the river at an elm, and is to run across three different lines north thirty eight degrees west to the lower boundary lines, thence up the said lower lines and across the different lines to the first line so as to include the said two acres & spring and we the said Commissioners for dividing the said landed estate of William BLANKS deceased have alloted for the same and finds that ELIZABETH BLANKS, now ELIZABETH REED draws the first tract which is distinguished in the division by Number One, that SIDNEY BLANKS, now SIDNEY SEARCY draws the second tract which is distinguished in the division by Number Two said tract Number Two being of less value than tract Number One we therefore decided that the owner of tract Number One pay to the owner of tract Number Two the sum of fifty dollars. That GEORGE W. BLANKS draws the third tract which is distinguished in the division by Number Three, and that JAMES BLANKS draws the last that which is distinguished in the division by Number Four, said tract number Three being of less value than tract Number Four, we therefore decide that the owner of tract Number Four pay to the owner of tract Number Three the sum of twenty five dollars.
