This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Sue Musette suemusette@yahoo.com ==================================================================== Will: Robert Bigger, Proved Sept. 1837: Montgomery County, TN From the State Library and Archives, Nashville, TN Montgomery County, Reel 93, Book G, pages 633-634 I Robert Bigger of the County of Montgomery & State of Tennessee Planter, do make this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at any Time Heretofore made and first I direct that my body be decently intered at the place whereon I now live in the County aforesaid in a manner suitable to my Condition in life, and as to such wordly Estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same as follows (To wit) First I direct that ll my debts and funeral Expenses by paid as soon after my decease as possible out of any money I may be possessed of or may come into the hands of my Executor from any Portion of my estate real or personal. Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my wife Katharine Bigger the Tract of Land whereon I now live. Exclusive of two pieces that I have conveyed to Thompson Bigger and Catherine P__y now Heaton during her natural Life or widowhood and after her death or marriage I give and bequeath said Tract of Land unto my two sons Eli & Robert A. Bigger to be equally divided. I further Give and bequeath unto my Wife Catharine Bigger a certain Bay horse by the name of Bill and her saddle Bridle & Blanket and two Cows that now Give milk. Two sows & Pigs about Twenty pounds of wool that is at Clarksville all the house hold & Kitchen furniture except one Bed and furniture or so much thereof as she may wish to keep. One Plough & Gear. One weeding hoe. An grub hoe. One axe and a plentiful support for her one year all of which I Give her during her natural Life or widowhood and at ther death or marriage to be Equally divided between my four children Viz Eli Thompson and Robert A. Bigger & Catherine Heaton. Thirdly I Give and bequeath unto my son Robert A. Bigger one bed and furniture Fourth I wish all of the remainder of my property to be sold to the highest bidder on the usual Credit and after all my first debts are paid for the remainder of the money accruing from the proceeds of said property if any to be Equally divided between my four children Viz Eli Thompson and Robert A. Bigger and Katharine Heaton. It is my wish that Andrew J Bright remain at the place whereon he now lives and enjoy the benefits of such parts of the lands as my wife and him may agree upon so long as the can agree and I also hereby ordain and appoint my son Thompson Bigger and my Son in Law Robert S Heaton Executors to this my last Will & Testament. Jordan M.G. Turner A J Bright Proven in Open Court September Term 1837 Know all men by these presents that we Thompson Bigger, Robert S Heaton, M. Jordan & M.G.
