Will of Gully Moore 30 Sep 1825 I Gully Moore of the County of Montgomery & State of Tennessee taking into consideration the uncertainty of human existance and being of perfect health mind & memory make and ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. In the first place I will and desire my executors hereafter named to pay all my just debts. Secondly - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Frances the Negros named as follows - My Negro woman Jenny and her three children named Sampson, Eliza and Patsy together with their future increase to her and her heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to her (my beloved Wife Frances) two other Negros Job and Andrew, Boys under eight years old to have and to hold to her and her heirs forever. I wish it distinctly understood that my Wife Frances is to have at her death the entire control of the disposition of the above named six Negros to wit Jenny, Sampson, Eliza, Patsy, Job and Andrew. I further give her fifty dollars in cash to be paid her by my executors. I also give her all my stock of horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, &tc together with all my household and kitchen furniture & farming utensils with everything else in any wise appertaining to the farm (except for the Negros hereafter decreed), the farm where we now live - during her natural life, also my Negro man Randal Ben and Negro woman named Lettuse during her natural life and at her death Randal and Lettuse, also the farm whereon I now live (and bequeathed to my wife during her life) I give and bequeath to my son William. Thirdly - I give and bequeath to my son James Moore one dollar in cash and no more. 4thly - I give and bequeath to the heirs of my late son John Moore one Negro man named Catir together with the sum of one dollar and no more . 5thly I give and bequeath to the heirs of my daughter Nancy formerly the wife of Hugh Dobbins late the wife of Kendall Vanhook one dollar in cash and no more. 6thly I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebecca the wife of Simeon Betha one dollar and no more. 7thly I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally wife of James C. Brown one dollar and no more. 8th I give and bequeath to my daughter Betsy wife of Thomas Langford one dollar and no more. 9th I give and bequeath to my daughter Polly wife of Dardan Brown one dollar and no more. 10th I give and bequeath to my grandson James Langford the Negro boy David now about twelve years old and one Negro girl Polly now about nine years old. 11th I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Martha H. Wilson one Negro boy named Daniel about six years old and one Negro girl Chasity about seven years old 12th I give and bequeath to my son William Moore my Negros Sam, Jacob, Sylvia, Amy, Harriet, Nancy, Cudge, Mary Ann, Little Sam and John. Together with all their increase. I do also further give and bequeath to my son William Moore all my Notes, Books and Book accounts and also all moneys I may have by me at my decease. I further give and bequeath to my son William every species of property of which I may die possessed not otherwise disposed of in this will. 13th I wish at the death of my beloved wife Frances that my executors immancipate my faithful slave Ben and they are authorized to furnish the means out of my estate to effect that desired object. - Lastly I appoint my son William Moore, my friend John H. Marable and my beloved wife Frances executors of this my last will and testament.
