Curry; Obion County; 151 acres, 1899. From Obion County Court Records, Book 4-N, pp 613-614. P.H. and M.E. Carroll, Deed to C.J. Curry, 151 acres. Filed Aug 17th 1899 at 3:05 p.m. and noted in note book No 5, p. 97 and Registered August 29th 1899. State of Tennessee, Obion County. Know all men by these presents that we P.H. Carroll and M.E. Carroll, wife of the said P.H. Carroll, for the consideration of $1900 nineteen hundred dollars in hand paid to me the said P.H. Carroll the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey in fee simple to C.J. Curry his heirs and assigns forever the following described tracts pieces or parcels of land lying and being in Civil District #8 of said county and State and bounded as follows to wit: beginning at a stake with oak elm and sassafras pointers being the south west corner of lot number one in John Rossons (?) east line running thence south with said line 48 poles to a stake John Glissons north west corner thence east about 286 poles to the center of the Mobile & Ohio Railroad. Thence north sixteen degrees west 56 poles to a stake in said railroad the same being the south east corner of lot number two. Thence west 274 poles to the beginning containing by estimation 91 acres and 13 poles. Another tract beginning in the center of the Mobile & Ohio railroad the south east corner of lot number three running thence east to the Rutherford fork for about 189 poles. Thence down said fork at a right angular distance of 21 1/6 poles to a stake, thence west to center of said railroad. Thence south 16 degrees east 25 2/5 poles to the beginning containing by estimation 30 acres. Another tract beginning in the center of Mobile & Ohio Railroad the north west corner of lot number 4 running thence east to Rutherford fork which with north line of lot #4. Thence down said fork at a right angular distance of 21 1/6 poles to a stake, thence west to center of said railroad, thence south 16 degrees east 25 2/5 poles to corner of lot #4 containing 30 acres by estimation, to have and to hold the above described tracts of land unto the said Curry his heirs and assigns forever, and I the said P.H. Carroll covenant with the said Curry, his heirs and assigns, that I am lawfully seized and possessed of said land, said land is free from encumbrances of any and all kinds, and I covenant with the said Curry his heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the titles to said land against the lawful claims and demands of any and all persons whatsoever, and I bind myself heirs and representatives to forever warrant and defend to the said Curry the title to said land against the claims of all persons whatsoever and I the said M.E. Carroll wife of the said P.H. Carroll do hereby expressly waive and release all rights title and interest that I may have in and to said three tracts of land as set out in this deed under the laws of Tennessee to homestead and dower.
