June 11, 1998 PUTNAM CO. Roll #5 Wills Vol. 6 Aug 1876 - Dec 1933 TENNESSEE STATE LIBRARY & ARCHIVES Brassell, J. R. ( WILL OF J.R. BRASSELL, BAXTER, TENN. To ( Will. ( I-J.R. Brassell of Baxter, Putnam County, State of Tennessee, being of sound and deposing mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament WITNESSETH: FIRST. I direct my Executor hereinafter named to pay my just debts and funeral expenses. SECOND. It is my desire and request that my son, Clay Brassell (deceased) of Dallas, Tex. (heirs) shall receive the sum of $450.00 Four Hundred Fifty Dollars, The said Clay Brassell having heretofore received $550.00 Five Hundred Fifty Dollars. THIRD. I further desire and request that my son, Claude Brassell of Pine Bluff, Ark., receive the sum of $50.00 Fifty Dollars, the said Claude Brassell having already received $950.00 Nine Hundred Fifty Dollars. FOURTH. I further desire and request that my son E.H. Brassell, of Pine Bluff, Ark. receive the sum of $550.00 Five Hundred Fifty Dollars and the said E.H. Brassell having heretofore received $450.00 Four Hundred Fifty Dollars. FIFTH. I further desire and request that my son, R.T. Brassell, (deceased) of Pine Bluff, Ark. (heirs) shall receive the sum of $950.00 Nine Hundred Fifty Dollars, the said R.T. Brassell's widow, having already received the sum of $Fifty Dollars, $50.00. SIXTH. I further desire and request that my son, John Brassell of Evansville, Ind. receive the sum of $1000.00 One Thousand Dollars, the said John Brassell, having received nothing from me heretofore. SEVENTH. I further desire and request that my son, Walter Brassell, of San Antonio, Tex. receive the sum of $1000.00 One Thousand Dollars the said Walter Brassell, having thus far received nothing from me. EIGHTH. I further desire and request that my daughter Attie Jennings, of Lynchburg, VA. receive the sum of $500.00 Five Hundred Dollars, the said Attie Jennings, having already received $500.00 Five Hundred Dollars. NINTH. I further desire and request that my daughter, Carrie Sadler of Baxter, Tenn. receive the sum of $550.00 Five Hundred Fifty Dollars, the said Carrie Sadler, having already received the sum of $450.00 Four Hundred Fifty Dollars. TENTH. I request and desire that my daughter, Ruby Hale, (deceased) of Cadis, Ky. (heir) shall receive the sum of $1000.00 One Thousand Dollars, the said Ruby Hale, deceased, having received nothing from me. ELEVENTH. It is my further desire and request that my daughter Eddie Ward, of Livingston, Tenn. receive the sum of $550.00 Five Hundred Fifty Dollars, having already received the sum of $450.00 Four Hundred Fifth Dollars. TWELTH. It is my desire and request that the Buick Car, which I have been using and which is now in control by John Lee Sadler and wife Carrie Sadler, the same be given to them for their services in waiting on me and attending to my last comforts. THIRTEENTH. It is my intention and desire that all my heirs, living and those that have preceded me, to their heirs, that each of them shall receive the sum of $1000.00 One Thousand Dollars each, and to those that I already have given and to those to whom I may give any part or portion of the said $1000.00 each, that such amount shall be deducted from the said $1000.00 One Thousand Dollars, which is to constitute my initial gift to each of my heirs. FOURTEENTH. All the rest of my property, real, personal or mixed wheresoever situated, which I now own or may hereafter acquire and which I shall die, seized or possessed of, I give, devise and bequeath to each of my children living and to my deceased childrens heirs, to each of such children or their heirs, share and share alike. FIFTEENTH. I name constitute and appoint the Baxter Bank & Trust Co., Baxter, Tenn., Executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name this the 1st day of Oct. 1925. _J.R. Brassell.____ The foreegoing instrument was subscribed, sealed, published and declared by J.R. Brassell as and for his last will and testament, in our presence and in the presence of each other, and we, at the same time, at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each of us, hereunto subscribe our names and residences as attesting witnesses.
