GRAVES OF REVOLUTIONARY SOLDIERS
Thirty Six of Them are to be Found in Roane County.

   There has been found in 20 counties of Tennessee the graves of 72
Revolutionary soldiers.  Strange as it may seem 36 of these old soldier
are buried in Roane County.  From the Nashville Banner, which published
the list of 72, we give the names of the following who were buried in
this county.

   The family names of many of those buried are familiar to our readers
as being the same as the family names of many of the old resident
families of the county.  We are not familiar with all the family
connections but will pass that up to Capt. McElwee of Rockwood who knows
as much about who they were as if he had been there at the time and had
assisted in burying them.
