Morgan dmorgan@efn.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following is from "Roane County Roots", Winter 1917, Volume 1, No. 2, page 23: "State of Tennessee, Roane County, December the 27 day of 1829, we the undersigners have been acquainted with Alexandrew CASEY for a number of years and as a citizen, he is considered an honest a just and upright man and while a soldier served his cuntery such as becoming a soldier but by Some Means or other has lived in a Situation that he has not got anything to support on Now in the Decline of Life and his febleness Deprives him from Labor to Support him and his old Ladey that can just Make out to cook them victuals when brout home and we believe that some charatable acts of the Court would contrabute Much to their futer hapeness and relieve them from ther appearant starving situation for they are as we believe very far advanced in Life. Alexandrew CASEY is about Eighty three and his wife Seventy Longe (?) and years old. Now we believe the aged and infirm aut to be suported and it is the first duty in a cristain Land. Wm. EBLEN.
