You are hereby commanded to take the body of Caleb Wood instantly, if to be found in your county, and him safely keep so that you have him before the Justices of our Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions now sitting for said County, at the Courthouse, in Kingston, then and there to answer a charge of the state exhibited against him by an Indictment for and assault and battery. And have then there this writ. Witness, Henry Breazeale, Clerk of said Court, at office, in Kingston, the 4th Monday in July, A.D. 1822. State of Tennessee, Roane County, July Session, 1822. The grand jurors for the state, elected, impaneled, sworn, and charged to inquire for the body of the County aforesaid upon their oath present that a certain Caleb Wood, late of said county labors on the twenty-second day of July 1822 at to wit in said county with force and arms, an assault did make upon the body of a certain John Oliver and with the said John did then and there greatly beat, wound, and ill treat him, cause damage and against the peace and dignity of the state.
