He enlisted as a marine at Newberne, N. C. in 1780 under Capt. Tatum. Pete Ferbish was mate. He was taken prisoner while on his way to St. Thomas and carried to Kingston, Jamaica where he was held as a prisoner until Peace was declared. He moved to Roane County, Tenn.
