October Term 1821. In the name of God Amen. I JOHN MCKINNY of the County of Roane within the State of Tennessee Being of sound and disposing mind and memory and calling to mine my mortality and that all men are born to die do make ordain and declare my last Will and Testa- ment in the following form and manner that is to say I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to its mother Earth to be buried in a decent man- ner by my Executor hereafter named. I give and bequeath my worldly Estate as follows (towit) to my dearly beloved wife NANCY I give and bequeath one negro boy named JERRY one negro woman named KIZO likewise the plantation whereon she now lives and all the live stock together with all the household and Kitchen furniture all the above named property is to be at his disposal dur- ing her life of widowhood. I give and bequeath to my two oldest sons JAMES and ANNANIAS the Hacker plantation to be equally divided between the twi Likewise to JAMES I give a younger negro boy named JERRY And to ANNANIAS a negro boy named _ISAM_ Item 3, I give and bequeath to my third and fourth sons JESSE and ELISHA the Poplar creek plantation to be equally divided be- tween the two likewise to JESSE I give a negro boy named NELSON and to ELISHA he is to have the first increase of the negro KIZO if she should have any if no increase There is to be three hundred dollars allowed him more than the rest out of the Estate when he becomes of age. Item 4, I give and bequeath to my four daughters _DUY_ REBECCA NANCY and SARAH as follows (to wit) to DECY one negro girl named FANNY to REBECCA one negro girl named SOPHA to NANCY one negro girl named KATY to SARAH one negro girl named ESTER. Item 5, As to my ready money it is my wish that a sufficient be put to the use to build a comfortable dwelling house for the use of my family where I now live and the _ballance_ to be kept in the him and made use of to the best advantage. And for the Execution of this my last Will & Testament I hereby nominate constitute and appoint WILLIAM CROWDER and BRASHER ROBERTS my sole Executors &C. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Seventh day of July 1821.
