Joseph PITTS from George BARBEE

Nov 19, 1820

This indenture made this nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord 
eighteen hundred and twenty between George BARBEE of the County of Robertson 
and State of Tennessee of the one part and Joseph PITTS of the County and 
State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said BARBEE for the love 
and affection he bears towards the said Joseph PITTS hath given granted and 
aliened conveyed returned unto the said Joseph PITTS his heirs and assigns a 
certain tract or parcel of land containing twenty eight and one fourth acres 
lying and being in Robertson County on the waters of Red River butted and 
bounded as follows to wit beginning at a stake the southeast part of Major 
GREGORYs twenty eight & one fourth acres tract running west with said line one 
hundred twenty fourt poles to a black oak thence south ___ six & two third 
poles to a red oak thence east one hundred and twenty four poles to the 
beginning with the appurtenances and every part & parcel thereof to have and 
to hold the before mentioned land __ bargained premises to the said Joseph 
PITTS his heirs and assigns forever and the said George BARBEE for
pg 367) himself his heirs Executors administrators doth hereby warrant promise 
and agree to and with the said Joseph PITTS his heirs and assigns that the 
before mentioned land and bargained premises he will warrant and forever 
defend that himself his heirs or any person or persons claiming from by or 
under them in witness whereof the said BARBEE hath hereunto set his hand and 
affixed his seal this day and year first above written.
