WASHINGTON 7th Nov 1825 This indenture made this thirteenth of October in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twenty and between Andrew WASHINGTON of the one part and Robert GORDON of the other as Witnesseth that for in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fourteen dollars to me in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold unto the said Robert GORDON his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a post oak being EDWARDs mark South West corner running East sixty none poles to a white oak on the bak of the Spring Branch thence up the Spring branch thirty degrees South of East thirty tow poles to a sassafras thence West eighty five poles to a hickory on GORDONs line thence to the Beginning twenty seven poles to the Beginning with all wood waters minerals & which I the said Andrew WASHINGTON bind myself my heirs and administrators and executors firmly by the presents forever to warrant and defend the aforesaid premises from the lawful claim of all and every person lawfully claiming the same but unto the said GORDON his heirs & assigns forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the day & date above written in the presence of James DOSS J G WASHINGTON signed Andrew Washington, seal Robertson County Court November Term 1821 This indenture from Andrew WASHINGTON to Robert GORDON was acknowledged in open Court by said WASHINGTON to be his act and deed and or deed to be registered.
