This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Sharon Smith sharon@axs4u ==================================================================== Robertson Co, TN Deed Bk J, p 1-2, Feb 14, 1810 This indenture made this 14th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & ten, Between William HUEY of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and Alexander GORDON of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said William HUEY for and in consideration of the sum of thirteen hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt and payment whereof is fully acknowledged the said William HUEY hath given granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Robertson & State of Tennessee on the waters of Red river, Beginning on the North side of the river at two cherry trees running South three hundred & twenty poles to a post oak thence west one hundred and sixty poles to Theophilus MORGANs fence thence North with said fence twenty five poles to the corner, thence West one hundred and sixty poles to a stake on the original line, thence North two hundred and sixty poles to a stake on MOOREs line, thence East with said line two hundred and twenty poles to the corner, thence North twenty six poles to the line of the original survey, thence East one hundred poles to the beginning, containing five hundred & eighty acres (be the same more or less) To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land together with all the priviledges benefits & appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto him the said Alexander GORDON his heirs & assigns forever & I the said William HUEY for myself my heirs Executors & administrators doth covenant promise & agree to and with the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns to warrant & forever defend the said tract or parcel of land free & clear of all encumberances whatsoever & from the lawful claim or demand of any person or persons whatsoever claiming thence to, unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns forever in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day & year first above written.
