This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Sharon Smith sharon@axs4u.net ==================================================================== Robertson Co TN Deed Book S, pg 165 R GORDON from A GORDON 7th November 1825 This indenture made this the eighth of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twenty and between Alexander GORDON of the one part and Robert GORDON of the other part both of Robertson County & state of Tennessee as witnesseth that I Alexander GORDON for & in the consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid this receipt is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained & sold unto the said Robert GORDON his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in the County aforesaid & on the waters of Red River and bounded as follows Beginning at a black oak on WASHINGTON line running north one hundred & ten poles to a hickory in EDWARDS line then west fifty seven poles to red oak then South fifty two poles to a hickory then west two hundred & thirty to a ash in John DORRIES line thence north fifty six poles to a hickory it being John MORGAN's north west corner thence East two hundred and seventy seven poles to the beginning with the woods waters minerals & hereditaments thereunto belonging to have and to hold whereunto I bind myself my heirs Executors Administrators forever to warrant and defend the same against the lawful claim of all and every person or persons claim this same tract unto the said Robert GORDON his heirs and assigns forever in Testimony whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal the day & date above written in the presence of James McDOWDLE William W GORDON Alexander GORDON, seal Robertson County Court September Term 1822 This indenture from Alexander GORDON to Robert GORDON was proven in open court by the oath of James McDOWDLE and William W GORDON subscribing whereas thereunto and ordered to be registered.
