This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Sharon Smith sharon@axs4u.net ==================================================================== Robertson Co, TN Deed Bk J, pg 13-15 Alexander GORDON from William HUEY May 10, 1810 13) This indenture made this 10th of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten between William HUEY of the County of Robertson & State of Tennessee of the one part and Aleexander GORDON of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars & seventy cents to him in hand paid by the said Alexander GORDON at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and release convey & confirm unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land bounded & being in the county of Robertson & state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars & seventy cents to him in hand paid by the said Alexander GORDON at or before the sealing & delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and release convey & confirm unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the county of Robertson & state aforesaid on the waters of Red River containing twenty five acres more or less Beginning at a maple on John HUEY's line thence South forty eight poles to a sweet gum on McDOWELL's line thence eighty 14) three poles to a post oak on JOHNSON's line thence north forty eight poles to the south corner on a post oak thence west eighty three poles to the Beginning To have to hold the above mentioned land and premises contained within the above mentioned bounds forever all preiviledges rights & appurtenances thereunto belonging and the said William HUEY & for himself his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever warrant and defend the above mentioned Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons whatsoever whereby the above mentioned land and premises ? contrary to the intent and true meaning of these ? whereas unto the said William HUEY hath set hand & affixed his seal this day and above mentioned.
