Grimes to H.H. Sugg 6 Oct 1851 This indenture made this 2 day of Oct, one thousand eight hundred & fifty one ]1851] between John H. Grimes & James T. Grimes of the County of Logan and State of Kentucky of the one part and Henry H. Sugg of the county of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the other part, witnesseth that the said John H. Grimes & James T. Grimes for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold aliened & conveyed by these presents do grant convey and sell and confirm unto the said Henry H. Sugg his heirs and assigns for ever, two thirds of that tract or parcel of land that the late Catherine Grimes formally lived on and being in the county of Robertson & State of Tennessee, on the North side of Red Riviver and bounded as follows: Beginning at a hickory corner, in Uriah Young's being the ___? corner of said Young's Thence South 147 poles to a black jack corner Henry H. Sugg's __ John Stubblefield's Thence West 115 poles to a stake corner Edwin Stainback's Thence north 77 poles to a stake near a red oak and hickory pointer? Thence East 13 poles to a stake con? formally William Watkin's Thence North 70 poles to a stake corner Uriah Young's Thence East 102 poles to the Beginning, Containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid two thirds of the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and every of it appurtenances & the right title interest and claim of us the said John H. Grimes & James T. Grimes of and to the same, to have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed unto the said Henry H. Sugg his heirs and assigns forever and the said John H & James T. Grimes for themselves their heirs executors and administrators doth covenant provide and agree to and with the said Henry H. Sugg his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remaining free from all ___? and other gifts, grants, bargains sales and encumbrances whatsoever ..... She was the d/o Thomas and Elizabeth Carney Veale. They migrated to TN in 1828. Catherine Grimes died in Robertson Co. TN at age 70 on Oct 1, 1851. Her will names grandchildren, Cyrus A. Sugg, James Sugg, Virginia C. Sugg, Henry H. Sugg, Sarah E. Sugg, Mary Grimes, Robert Grimes, John H. Grimes, Susan Grimes, Elizabeth Grimes. Henry H.
