Elisha WILLIS from Joseph PITTS

pg15)This indenture made this 8th day of March in the year of our Lord 
Eighteen hundred and fourteen by and between Jos PITTS of the state of 
Tennessee and County of Robertson of the one part and Elisha WILLIS of the 
County and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said PITTS 
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid 
by the said WILLIS the receipt in hereof is hereby acknowledged hath given 
granted bargained released and conveyed to the said WILLIS a certain tract of 
land lying on the south side of Red River beginning at a post oak
pg16)marked M.G. north west of a spring called James HOGANs spring ten poles 
and near the north east corner of Bazel BORENs old survey running west thirty 
eight poles to a stake in the barrens thence south twenty three poles to a 
post oak on Bazel BORENs line thence east forty six poles to his corner a 
black oak thence south one hundred and four poles to a spanish oak thence east 
one hundred and seventeen and one fourth poles to a black jack thence north 
one hundred and twenty seven poles to two hickories thence west one hundred 
twenty five and one fourth poles to the beginning containing one hundred acres 
be the same more or less it being a tract of land granted to Jos PITTS by the 
state of Tennessee by patent dated February the 2nd 1813. I the said Joseph 
PITTS for myself my heirs and assigns do warrant and forever defend the 
aforesaid tract of land to E. WILLIS from me my heirs or any person claiming 
in through or under me in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and 
affixed my seal this day and date first above written.
