Blair & wife to John L. Henderson; Deed 40 1/2 acres [note: Malinda Blair was sister to John L. Henderson] We Alexander M. Blair and Malinda W. Blair have this day bargained and sold, and do hereby transfer and convey to John L. Henderson and his heirs forever for the consideration of eight hundred and twelve dollars to us paid, a tract of land in the State of Tennessee, Rutherford County, containing forty and one half acres and sixteen poles, be the same more or less, and bounded as follows, on the west by the lands of William Small on the South by the lands of the heirs of Joseph Poindexter decd., on the East by the lands of Campbell & Philips, and on the north by the lands of William Henderson Decd. Beginning at a Dogwood & Elm Campbell & Philipıs North west corner, running thence west one hundred and sixteen poles to a walnut, thence south fifty six poles to a stake, thence East to Campbell & Philipıs line, thence north with their line to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said John L. Henderson his heirs and assignees forever. We do covenant with the said John L. Henderson that we are lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it, and that the same is unencumbered, we do further covenant and bind ourselves our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land, and every part thereof to the said John L.
