S. Dillon Deed This Indenture made and entered into by and between John Bottoms, Senior of the one part and C. S. Dillon of the other part both of the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee witnesseth that I the said John Bottoms, Senior for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to me paid by C. S. Dillon do bargain, sell and transfer to him a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Rutherford in District No. 16 bounded as follows: Beginning on a cedar & post oak on Elias Butler North and South line, running South sixty poles to a white oak & hickory, thence West ninety six poles to a mulberry on the West side of a small Branch, thence crossing same Branch to the Beginning containing fifty one acres more or less. To have and to hold to him the said C. S. Dillon, and I the said John Bottoms, Senior do bind myself to warrant & forever defend the rights and title to the above described tract of land with the improvements thereon and everything pertaining thereunto to him the said C. S. Dillon, his heirs and assigns from all claims of any person or persons. In testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal, this December 3rd Eighteen hundred & forty nine.
