Benjamin Morgan to S. H. Bottoms – Deed



This Indenture made and entered into between Benjamin Morgan of Monroe County, 

Mississippi of the one part and Sterling H. Bottoms of Rutherford County, 

Tennessee of the other part witnesseth that the said Benjamin Morgan for and 

in consideration of the sum of Fifty five dollars to him in hand paid by the 

said Bottoms the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath bargained & sold 

to the said S. H. Bottoms the North end of Lot No. 9 in the plan of the town 

of Milton, Rutherford County, Tennessee including so much of that Lot as was 

not deed by me the said Morgan to A. D. & R. F. Marshall with the buildings 

and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the right of which part of lots or 

parcel of ground I do bind myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and defend 

to the said Bottoms, his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I have 

hereunto set my hand and seal March 15th 1852;

Monroe County	)	Before me Z. J. White a commissioner appointed by the 

Governor of the State of Tennessee to take the acknowledgements of deeds & of 

persons resident in the State of Mississippi to be used & recorded in the 

State of Tennessee personally appeared Benjamin Morgan to me known to be the 

individual names in and who executed the within conveyance to Sterling H. 

Bottoms, and acknowledged that he signed, sealed and delivered the within deed 

for the purposes therein contained, Given under my hand and seal this 25th day 

of March 1852.
