Bottoms to David Jordan – Bill of Sale Know you to whom it may concern that I John R. Bottoms have this day sold, and by those present do sell unto David Jordan a certain Negro girl named Sally Ann of the age of two years, to have and to hold to aforesaid Negro for his only benefit and the said John R. Bottoms warrants and defends the title of said Negro to the said David Jordan or his heirs or assigns from the claim or claims of him, his heirs or from the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness the said John R. Bottoms has hereunto set his hand and seal this 18th day of June 1835. John R.
