Wood: 42 and 3/4 acres This Indenture made this seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty by and between Benjamin Clayton of the county of Rutherford & State of Tennessee of the one part and Owen L. Wood of the county & State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars to him the said Clayton in hand paid do bargain, sell & deliver, and do by these presents bargain, sell & deliver to the said Owen L. Wood , a certain tract of land lying in the county & State aforesaid on the waters of Bradleys Creek. Beginning on an ash running South seventy six poles to Ch[ ] white oak & Cedar & Red bud, thence west with Thomas Hoskins north boundary line ninety poles to an ash & three dogwoods, thence north seventy six poles to a double white oak in Robert Jarmenšs South boundary line, thence East with said line ninety poles to the beginning, containing forty two and three quarters acres to have and to hold to him the said Woods his heirs and assignees forever, and the said Benjamin Clayton do for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators do warrant & forever defend to the said Woods, his heirs etc. before recited land & premises, against the claim of all person or persons whatsoever.
