Dickson – Bill of Sale Know all men by these present that I Charles Dement of the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee, hath this day bargained, sold & delivered unto Mary Eliza & Nancy Wilson Dickson, a certain Negro woman named Matilda about 29 years of age, for and in consideration of three hundred & fourteen dollars and sixty one cents the right of said Negro I do hereby forever warrant and defend from me and my heirs and all and every person claiming title to said Negro. I warrant said Negro to be healthy and sound. In witness whereof I set my hand & seal this 21 day of May 1821. Test: Cader Dement Charles Dement (Seal) Edward T.
