This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Carole Gibson ==================================================================================== Book U page 640: Deed 48 acres; William Gibson to John Bellah 1835/1836 This Indenture made this twentyfirst day of December, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, between William Gibson of Rutherford county and State of Tennessee of the one part and John Bellah of the county of Rutherford and State of Tennessee of the other part, witnesseth that the said William Gibson for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and forty dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Bellah the receipt whereof his hereby acknowledged hath given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said John Bellah his heirs and assignees forever a certain tract, piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Rutherford and State [ ] on Bradley's Creek, described as follows. Beginning on a Beech and dogwood Moses Gibson's northwest corner, thence north eighty eight degrees west with an old marked line sixty-seven and a half poles to a stake in Andrew McKee's line, thence South one hundred fifteen and a half poles to a black gum in Donnell's line, thence South eighty eight degrees East with the line sixty nine and a half poles to a stake Moses Gibson's corner, thence north with his line one hundred and fifteen poles to the beginning. Containing by survey forty eight acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights, profits, em[]ments, h[]ments, and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use benefit and behalf of him the said John Bellah his heirs and assignees forever, and the said William Gibson for himself his heirs executors & administrators do covenant and [ ] to and with the said John Bellah his heirs or assignees that the before recited land and bargained premises he will warrant and forever defend against ...
