This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Carole Gibson ==================================================================================== Book U page 255/256: deed James Gibson to John Brown; 70 acres 1834/1834 This Indenture made this twelfth day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and theirty four, by and between James Gibson of the county of Rutherford and state of Tennessee of the one part, and John Brown of the County and State aforesaid of the other part; Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to him the said Gibson in hand paid, do bargain, sell and deliver, and do by these presents bargain & deliver to the said John Brown a certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying and being in the county and state aforesaid, on the waters of Bradley's Creek, bounded as follows, to wit. Beginning on a Beech and Hornbeam in Robert Jarmon's West boundary and running thence with White's line North Eighty degrees West sixty eight poles to a Beech, thence West one hundred and eighty four poles to a Red Oak & Sugartree, thence North thirty six poles to a white ash standing in McKee's East boundary line Mathew Gibson's corner, thence East with said Gibson's South boundary line two hundred and fifty-two poles to a stake, thence South to the beginning. Containing seventy acres, the same being more or less. To have and to hold to him the said Brown his heirs and assignees forever and I the said James Gibson, do for myself my heirs executors & administrators do warrant and forever defend the before recited land & premises to him the said John Brown his heirs and assignees forever against the claim of all persons whatever.
