This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Carole Gibson ==================================================================================== Book X, page 118: Deed, 175 acres; Matthew Gibson to Robert Jarman 1838 This indenture made this fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight between Matthew Gibson of the county of Rutherford and State of Tennessee of the one part and Robert Jarman of the County of Wilson and State aforesaid of the other part; Witnesseth, that the said Matthew Gibson for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand dollars in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained, sold and delivered unto Robert Jarman his heirs and assignees forever a certain tract or parcel of land whereon said Gibson now lives, it being in the County of Rutherford and State aforesaid, and on the waters of Bradley's bank. Beginning at a stake on the Eastern boundary line of the original Survey it [ ] the South East [ ] of Samuel Gibson's tract, thence South with said boundary one hundred and eight and one half poles to a stake, thence West two hundred and seventy poles to a stake on the West boundary line of said tract, thence North one hundred and eight and a half poles to a stake on Samuel Gibson's south West corner, thence East two hundred and seventy poles with Samuel Gibson's line to the beginning, containing by estimation one hundred and seventy five acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold to him the said Robert Jarman, his heirs and assigns forever and I the said Matthew Gibson do for my self my heirs executors administrators and assigns do warrant and f[ ] defend the above described land and premises against the claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever.
