Hoover to Washington Gibson;130 acres 1829/1835 This Indenture made this sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twnty nine, between John Hoover and Matthias W. Hoover of the one part and Washington Gibson of the other part, all of the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and sixty two dollars to them in hand paid, the above named John Hoover and Matthias W. Hoover hath bargained and sold unto the above named Washington Gibson a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the above named County and on the waters of the East fork of the West fork of Stone's River it being part of a survey of land conveyed by Matthias Hoover Senr to the above named John Hoover. Beginning on the top of a ridge on an Elm in Jacob Hoover's line, thence S 68' W 81 poles to an Elm, thence S35 W46 poles to an ash, thence S68 W36 poles to an Em, thence S8 East 136 poles to a white oak, thence East 113 poles to a stake in Jacob Hover's west boundary line, thence north with said line to Henry Hoover's south East corner of an eight acres tract of land it being a part of said survey, thence westward with said line 27 poles to a Beech & Dogwood said being Hoover's South West corner, thence north 42 1/2 poles to a sugartree said Hoover's north west corner, thence Eastwardly with said line 33 poles to a stake in Jacob Hoover's line, thence north with said line to the beginning. Containing one hundred and thirty acres, be same more or less. To have and to hold the above named land and t[] to the only proper use and behalf of the above named Washington Gibson his heirs and assignes forever and that the above named Hoovers doth for themselves their heirs and assignes covenant to and agree to warrant and forever defend from them their heirs, administrators or assgnees or any other person or persons whatsoever the above named land.
