Patterson 1840 I Robert Jarmon have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Amzi C. Patterson and his heirs forever for the consideration of eight hundred dollars to me paid a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Rutherford County and District number Sixteen, containing by estimation one hundred and forty acres be the same more or less and boundaries as follows beginning at a Sinkhole near Bradley's Creek meeting house running north 130 poles to a dead Red oak, thence up the creek 53 poles to a Stake near the upper end of the mile dam thence South 45 ca[]t 186 poles to a black walnut, thence north 33 East 18 poles to a redbud, thence South 70 D East 86 poles to an elm in the old line thence South 75 poles to a dead mulberry the South east corner of said Survey. Thence west 202 poles to the beginning, To have and to hold the same to the said Amzi C. Patterson is heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said Amze C. Patterson that I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it, and that the same is unencumbered...this the 1st day of January 1840.
