24 Dec 1821 - William Mathis to Edmund Jones for Power of Attorney. I, William 
Mathis of Madison County, TN appoint Edmund Jones of Rutherford County, my true and

lawful attorney for me and in my name to ask, demand, sue for and recover of all 
persons all sums of monies due and owing to me and to receive of Benjamin Johnston 
a certain tract of land sold at execution sale to him about August last. Wit: James

Jones, Abel Davis and Thomas Nornam. Reg: 22 Nov 1822
