All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Carole Gibson ********************************************************************************************************** Rutherford County Deeds (from TSLA microfilm roll #112 Book R, page 90 John McCoy to Benjamin Beaty} deed 117 acres of land This Indenture made the twelfth day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between John McCoy of the State of Tennessee and the County of Rutherford on the one part and Benjamin Beaty of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand and fifty dollars, to the said John McCoy to him in hand paid by the said Benjamin Beaty, I the aforesaid John McCoy have bargained, granted and sold, and by thee presents do bargain, grant and sell and convey, unto the said Benjamin Beaty his heirs and assignees one certain tract of land lying in the State and County aforesaid and on the waters of Overalls Creek. Beginning on [at] two Hickories Claiborne Howse¹s corner in Beasley¹s line, thence west with his line to Everett Haine¹s line a part oak, thence north with his line and the Nashville road to Claiborne Howse¹s Corner thence East with his line to a Dogwood Jesse Covington¹s corner, thence south with his line fifteen and one third poles to a stake said Covington¹s corner, thence East one hundred and twenty five poles to a stake in Haines¹ line, thence south with his line to the beginning. Containing by estimation one hundred and seventeen acres more or less, to have and to hold the aforesaid bargained premises with all and singular the privileges there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the aforesaid Benjamin Beaty his heirs and assignees, and the aforesaid John McCoy for myself, my heirs, executors & administrators do warrant and defend the aforesaid bargained for premises, against the lawful claims of all known witnesses unto him, the aforesaid Benjamin Beaty, his heirs and assignees.
