Know ye that in consideration of the sum of one cent per acre paid into the Entry Takeršs office of Rutherford county pursuant to an act of the General Assembly of said State passed 22nd November 1823, and an act Supplemental thereto, and entered 6th October 1826 by No. 936. There is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto James McKee a certain tract or parcel of land containing thirty seven and one half acres by survey bearing date 20th March 1827, lying in said county, on the waters of the East fork of Stone River. Beginning at a Cedar on Overalls line, thence South ninety eight poles to an Elm his corner on Hamiltonšs N.B. line, thence east sixty one and one fourth poles to a stake said McKeešs S.W. corner, thence north with his line ninety eight poles to a stake MeKeešs N.W. corner, thence west to the beginning. With the hereditaments and appurtenances. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances to the said James McKee and his heirs forever. In witness whereof Newton Cannon, Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the great Seal of the State to be affixed, at Nashville on the 2nd day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty six, and of the independence of the United States the sixty first.
