All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Carole Gibson ********************************************************************************************************** Rutherford County Deeds (from TSLA microfilm roll #112 Book R, page 409 George Smith to Ambrose McKee Sr.} 50 acres This indenture made this the thirteenth day of May in the year of one thousand eight hundred & twenty eight between George Smith of the State of Tennessee and county of Rutherford of the one part, and Ambrose McKee Sen. of the above named State and County other part, Witnesseth that the said George Smith for in consideration of the sum of Six dollars to him in hand paid by the said Ambrose McKee, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged that given, granted, bargained, sold, conveyed & confirmed unto the said Ambrose McKee Senr., his heirs and assignees forever a certain tract or parcel of land, situate being & lying in the county and state aforesaid on the waters of McNairy¹s branch, a branch of the East fork of Stones River. Beginning at the North East corner of a forty-acre tract of land of said McKee¹s. Beginning at a walnut, thence north forty eight poles to a Hawthorn, thence West with Stephen Skan¹s line one hundred and fifty one poles to Ash & Cedar, thence South forty eight poles to a Hickory said McKee¹s corner, thence East one hundred and fifty one poles to the beginning corner by estimation fifty acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights, property, [ ], herditaments & appurtenances, of, in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use & behoof of the said Ambrose McKee, his heirs & assignees forever, and the said George Smith for himself, his heirs, executors & administrators doth covenant & agree to and with the said Ambrose McKee his heirs or assignees that the before recited land & bargained premises he will warrant & forever defend against the right, title, interest or claims of all and every person or persons whatever.
