Bottoms ==================================================================== Rutherford County, Tennessee Book O Page 43 James Saunders to Kitty Kees – Deed 50 acres This Indenture made this twelfth day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty, by and between James Saunders of the County of Sumner, and State of Tennessee and Kitty Kees of the County of Rutherford & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars in hand paid by the said Kitty Kees unto the said James Saunders the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold unto the said Kitty Kees , his heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land lying in Rutherford County on the north side of the dry fork of Bradleys Creek and bounded as follows, beginning at the spring in the creek that is now used, thence north one hundred and twenty three poles to a beech in the north boundary line of the old survey, thence East Sixty six poles to an Ironwood & hackberry in said line, thence South one hundred and twenty three poles to the middle of the creek, thence down the channell (sic) of said creek to the beginning containing fifty acres more or less, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Kitty Kees, her heirs and assigns, and the said James Saunders his heirs and assigns, doth warrant and forever defend the aforesaid land & bargained primises (sic), against the claim or claims of all person. In testimony whereof the said James Saunders has subscribed his name then affixed his seal the day and year first above written. Signed, Sealed and delivered in presence of James Matthews William Thomas, Jr. James Saunders State of Tennessee Rutherford County Court, June Term 1821 The execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance was duly proven in open court by the oaths of James Matthews and William Thomas, Jr. two subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be registered 21 July 1821.
