For the love and affection I entertain for Nathan Thurman, my grandson, I do
hereby give and transfer and convey to him my sorrel filly with a blaze face two
years old last spring.  To have and to hold the same to the said Nathan Thurman
his heirs and assigns forever.  I do covenant with the said Nathan Thurman that
I am lawfully seized of said sorrel filly aforesaid have a good right to convey
her, and that the same is unencumbered.  I do further covenant and bind myself
my heirs and representatives to warrant and forward defend the title to the said
filly and her increase if any to the said Nathan Thurman his heirs and assignees
against the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever. Given under my hand and seal
this 11th day of July 1838.

Personally appeared before me Robert S. Morris Clerk of the County Nathan
Thurman the foregoing named bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted, and
who acknowledged that he executed the foregoing deed of gift for the purposes
therein contained.  Witness my hand at office this 11th day of July 1838.
