All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Carole Gibson ********************************************************************************************************** Rutherford County Deeds (from TSLA microfilm roll #112 Book Q, page 20 Daniel Travers to Edward Gather: 80 acres This Indenture made this thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four between David Travers of the County of Rutheford and the State of Tennessee of the one part, and Edward Gather of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Daniel Travers for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and eighteen dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Edward Gather, his heirs and assignees forever a certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being on the North side of the East fork of Stones River in the aforesaid County. Beginning on a Walnut John Davisıs East boundary line, thence North one hundred and two poles to a White Walnut, thence East seventy eight poles to a Poplar, thence South fifty poles to a stake, thence East Seventy two poles to a Dogwood, thence South sixty poles to a white oak and Ironwood, thence West one hundred and fifty poles the beginning, containing by estimation eighty acres of land be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and Singular the privileges, hereditaments, and appurtenances thereunto belonging or an any wise appertaiing to the only proper benefit and behoof of him the said Edward Gather, his heirs and assignees forever, and the said Daniel Travers for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Edward Gather, his heirs and assignees, that the before recited and bargained premises, he will forever warrant and defend against the lawful claim and demand of all or any person whatever.
