Woods; deed for 91 acres This Indenture made this twentyeth [sic] day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty six, between William Wilson of the county of Rutherford and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Owen L. Wood of the said county and state of the other part; Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and sixty four dollars to him the said William Wilson in hand paid by the said Owen L. Wood, the receipt & payment whererof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, sell & convey, unto the said Owen L. Wood a certain tract, or parcel of land, containing ninety one acres lying & being in the county of Rutherford, and on the north side of Bradleyıs Creek of the East fork of Stone River, bounded as follows. Beginning at an Elm on the bank of a branch of said Bradleys creek, thence south sixty two degrees, west eighty two poles to a Dogwood, thence west fifty poles to an Elm on said Woodıs line, thence north with his line, one hundred & thirty five and one half poles to Poplar said Wilsonıs corner, thence East with said Wilsonıs line, one hundred and eight poles to the centre of a branch, thence south down the centre of the channel of said branch ninety six poles to the beginning. Containing ninety one acres. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the improvements, hereditaments & appurtenances to the same belonging or appertaining, to the only proper use, benefit & behoof of him the said Owen L. Wood his heirs & assignees forever. And the said William Wilson for himself, his heirs, executors & administrators doth hereby agree to and with the said Owen L. Wood, his heirs, executors & administrators, that the before mentioned tract & bargained premises they will warrant & forever defend, against the right, title, claim, interest & demand of all and every person & persons whatsoever, to the said Owen L. Wood his heirs & assignees forever. The witness whereof the said William Wilson hath hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal the day & year first above written.
