All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Carole Gibson ********************************************************************************************************** Book W, page 701, No. 759 Thomas Woods to John Woods; deed for Lot No. 70 This Indenture made this 24th day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty three, between Thomas Woods, the County of Hickman and State of Kentucky of the one part, and John Woods of the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee of the other part; Witnesseth, that the said Thomas Woods for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof he does hereby acknowledge hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened & confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm unto the said John Woods and his heirs and assignees forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee, on the South side of Murfreesborough and the north side of State Street in the plan of lots laid off and sold by Isaac Hilliard on the 20th day of October 1818, and being known and designated in said plan by number seventy. Beginning at the South East corner of the same State Street, and running thence west with said street nine poles to a stake, thence north nine poles to a stake, thence East nine poles to a stake, and thence south nine poles to the beginning with all and singular the right, title, interest and appurtenances and all the estate, right, title, in the? Property claim and demand of him the said Thomas Woods of in and to the same. To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed ? all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every of the appurtenances unto the said John Woods, his heirs, assignees forever, and the said Thomas Woos for himself, his heirs, executors & administrators doth covenant, promise and agree to [?] and with the said John Woods, his heirs, assignees by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain for of and from all former and other gifts, grants, bargains, sales, dowers rights and the title of dower, judgements executions, titles, troubles, charges and encumbrances whatsoever done or supposed to be done by him the said Thomas Woods, and the said Thomas Woods and his heirs all and appurtenances, unto the said John Woods his heirs and assignees against him the said Thomas Woods and his heirs and all and any other person or persons whatever doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
