He enlisted while living in York County, S. C., and served about ninteen months in all. His officers were Capt. McMullen, Capt. Moffit, Col. William Hill and Col. Neal and Gen. Sumpter. He was in battles of Reedy River, Hill's Iron Works, Williams' Lane, Rocky Mount and Blackstock. After the War he moved to North Carolina and after a number of years moved to Rutherford County, Tenn. He applied for revolutionary pension in 1832 while living in Giles County, Tenn., having moved there in 1830. He was still living in 1843 and at that time his wife and two single daughters were living.
